Teheca, an app that connects expecting mothers to nurses wins Seedstars Kampala
Teheca, an app that connects new and expecting mothers to nurses for in home checkup, has come out tops at Seedstars Kampala in Uganda.
Teheca was placed first at the pitch which was held at Kololo Independence Ground on Friday (18 October) in Uganda’s capital.
The startup — which was founded in 2016 by Ruyonga Daniel (who is the CEO) and Asha Namugambe (who is COO) (pictured above, left and right respectively) — will now represent Mauritius at the Seedstars Africa Summit in December.
The startup was part of Google Launchpad Africa’s first cohort, held last year (see this story).
The Seedstars Kampala winner will represent Uganda at the Seedstars Africa Summit
Yunga Technologies, a security device that allows homes to protect each other through a local network, was placed second. This, while Chap Chap Africa, which creates financial profiles for small businesses by digitising their day-to-day business transactions, was placed third.
Six other startups pitched at the event too. They were Too Good, Ogaget, Ugabus, Paat Soil Clinic, GNU Grid Africa and The Online Butchery (see this story).
