Cape Verde ticketing startup Passafree has been named as the winner of this year’s Seedstars Praia pitching event.
The Praia-based startup has developed a mobile app that enables users to promote, sell and purchase tickets for various events in Cape Verde.

Passafree was one of nine startups selected to pitch at the event which was held last Thursday (26 September) in the Cape Verde capital (see this story).
Passafree will now represent Cape Verde at the Seedstars Africa regional summit
Bonako Games, a startup that helps African developers to monetise their games was placed second. This while queue monitoring solution Nhabex won third place.
A panel comprised of PD Consult CEO Paulino Dias, Unitel T+ CEO Inoweze Ferreira and Caixa Económica CEO António Moreira selected the top three startups.
Passafree will now represent Cape Verde at the Seedstars Africa Summit in which will be held in Johannesburg in December.
At the regional summit, the startup will get the chance to win a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland in April next year where the winner will take home a $500 000 investment prize.
Continuing on its world tour of fast-growing startup scenes in emerging markets, Seedstars World’s next stop is Cameroon at ActivSpaces on 11 October to select the best startup in the country at Seedstars Douala.
